Job Summary The Senior Project Engineer shall be responsible for establishing and initially maintaining the project’s design and construction controls and procedures.
Responsibilities The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities and skills required.

▪ Must have a demonstrative commitment to live the five core values – Respect, Integrity, Innovation, Collaboration and Excellence.
▪ Work closely with the Superintendents to direct, plan, coordinate, and execute work of their assigned trades on time, within budget, attains or exceeds profit goals while maintaining a safe workplace, promoting and enhancing client relationships.
▪ Manage bid solicitation with subcontractors and suppliers. Evaluate Subcontractor bids, aid in pricing alternates, and initiate value-engineering alternatives.
▪ Be stationed at the project site or otherwise as deemed necessary by the Construction Manager.
▪ Work closely with the Superintendent with determining material handling and storage logistics.
▪ Work closely with the Construction Manager in the preparation of purchase orders, subcontracts and change orders.
▪ Post contract change orders to current drawings.
▪ Review shop drawings, samples, catalog data in accordance with plans and specifications, scope, installation procedures, site considerations, and in regards to coordination with other trades.
▪ Prepare, expedite and monitor logs for tracking shop drawings, contract documents, submittals, request for information, change orders and other as determined necessary for a successful project.
▪ Monitor job progress with Construction Manager and Superintendent for schedule updating.
▪ Prepare project schedule with assistance from Construction Manager and Superintendent and maintain on a weekly/monthly basis.
▪ Manage the coordination of Owner Furnished Equipment and Systems delivery and installation with project staff.
▪ Review Subcontractor applications for payment in coordination with project staff.
▪ Expedite and document Owner and Architect decisions and approvals.
▪ Become familiar with internal cost accounting methods and software.
▪ Maintain and review status of all project-related correspondence (i.e. field reports and RFI responses.
▪ Track and coordinate with Superintendents to ensure timely completion of punch list items.
▪ Review plans and implement Value Engineering strategies to ensure compliance with Guaranteed Scope of Work.
▪ Track redlines and maintain as-builts as necessary.
▪ Coordinate submittal log with Construction Manager and Superintendent.
▪ Responsible for maintaining submittals and getting submittals approved.
▪ Obtain all closeout materials from subcontractors and suppliers including guarantees and warranties, as-builts, final pay applications, lien releases, Operations and Maintenance Manuals, and coordinate Owner Training of Equipment.
▪ Become familiar with currently used company provided software for job management and bidding purposes.
▪ Assist with preparing the job start-up and closeout checklists.
▪ Manage Action Items Register to track progress of all procurement and daily issues.
▪ Possess working knowledge of all project plans, specifications, contract with Owner, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings, submittals, and all other project related documents, and maintain a complete and accurate set of as-builts. Become familiar with DB agreement, scope of work and related Contractual Documents.
▪ Support and implement the company’s Project Success Planning processes.
▪ Actively participate and/or lead post-bid, buyout, Owner/Architect/Contractor, coordination, lead team, subcontractor, staff, scheduling and post-mortem meetings.
▪ Familiar with all Policies and Processes as it relates to this position.
▪ Actively participates on internal team(s) that focuses on continuous improvement of the business.
▪ Work closely with the Construction Manager with financial forecast for monthly updating and reporting.
▪ Must be able to apply concepts and exploit opportunities for Sustainability.
▪ Perform other Ad hoc duties as requested.

Minimum Requirements  ▪ Preferred 4-year degree in an accredited construction related curriculum (BSCE, BSCM, BSAE, etc.) or experience equivalent to a 4-year degree.
▪ Minimum 2-4 years experience at Project Engineer II level or at least 6 years construction related experience.
▪ Possess an understanding of general construction contract agreements, the contract agreement implementation as it relates to the Guaranteed Scope of Work, reporting requirements, and financial commitment.
▪ Ability in these areas: interpersonal skills, computer skills, ability to communicate both written and oral.
▪ Advanced knowledge of construction techniques and skills.
▪ Knowledge of basic PC-based programs (Microsoft Excel, Project and Power Point) including scheduling, and basic accounting principles.
Working Conditions ▪ Required to visit the jobsite. Must be able to inspect the jobsite, including climbing ladders, etc. to view progress of the job.
